                       Sunway  Building  Technology  (Suntec)  had taken all  necessary  steps  to
                       position  the company to  face  the  current  year.  Suntec  posted  a  group
                       pre-tax  loss of  RM85  million  last year.

                       Suntec Chairman  Encik  Mirzan  Mahathir  said,  the company whose
                       core  business  is  construction,  is  leaner and  more  effective now.  It  is
                        nevertheless  cautiously  optimistic as  there are signs  that  the  property
                        sector  is  beginning  to  pick  up.

     On  the Sunway  Lagoon  Theme  Park,  Tan  Sri  Jeffrey  said  there  would  be new attractions.  The
        Sunway  Lagoon  Resort  Hotel  and Sunway  Hotel  Penang have  been enjoying  an  average
                                                   occupancy  rate of  about 50%  to  60%.


   |Ttie company achieved  a turnover  of RM410.1  million  in  1998,  35%  higher  than  1997.  However,
         it  recorded a  consolidated operating  loss after tax and minority  interest of RM82.57  million.
