SUNGEIWAY GROUP
DINNER AND DANCE
The Kelab Sukan Sunway (KSS) was given
the task of organising the Group's 1988
Annual Dinner and Dance. Since our new
site workshop was ready, the logical choice
was to have the function there. This was
personally requested for by Dato' Cheah.
The opportunity to allow staff to view the
workshop was something not to be
missed. At the same time, it would create
an awareness among the staff of the loca-
tion of the site office, as most of the HQ
staff and from Sunway College do not
know its location. The preparations and the
fund raising for the souvenir programme
were hectic as this was the last event for the
outgoing KSS committee to raise funds for
the following year. Letters and personal per-
suasion were used to raise the targetted
amount of $40,000. Each company in the
Group laboured hard to meet its share of
this sum. Regular meetings were conducted
to scrutinize any shortfalls in the fund rais-
ing programme and monitor the prepara-
tions for deadUnes for their assigned tasks.
The printing of the souvenir programme,
the menu and drinks for the night, the
decorations and lighting, the games, the The Country Riders minus their horses
prizes etc., had to be perfect before the
Annual Dinner and Dance. Terminal One Dancers then took the stage night up with some slow and romantic
to entertain the audience. They danced and numbers.
The night of the 6th February 1988 was boggled their way for 15 minutes. Food

President of the KSS, Mr Chew Chee Kin.
He thanked the committee for their untir-
ing efforts and was pleased to announce
that they had collected $60,000, exceeding
our target. He also thanked those who had
generously contributed in one way or
another to this event. Dato' Cheah then
made his speech. At the end of his speech,
he indicated that the 1988 Year of the
Dragon would be a good year for the
Group. To underscore his point, he lit the
