he Academic Board of
Sunway College, which comprises
the Board of Directors of Sunway
College and the Vice-Chancellors of
our university twinning partners,
meets every year to discuss matters
of mutual concern. Dato' Musa
Hitam, Chairman of the Board,
chaired the Fifth Annual Meeting
on Tuesday, March 3, 1992; six of
our seven partners were represented.
The meeting was opened with
speeches and greetings from Dato'
Musa Hitam and Dato' Jeffrey
Cheah that were followed by a
Report on Sunway College 1991
presented by Dr. Rex Sharman
(Acting Director). Each representa-
tive then responded to the Report
and commented on his or her
university's role in their twinning
Academic Board arrangement. Private meetings were

organized by Mr. Yeow Thit Sang,
and College staff. Mr. Ong Ghee
Bin from Properties briefed the
Group on the College plan, and
Dato' Jeffrey Cheah delivered a
thorough briefing on the whole
Bandar Sunway project.
Dato' Jeffrey Cheah hosted a
wonderful dinner for the Board
members and invited guests in the
evening, with the guests being drawn
from College, Sungei Way, the
community, and other universities
seeking to twin with Sunway College.
That dinner contributed markedly
to the overall success of the Fifth
Academic Board Meeting, and all
people gained a greater under-
standing of the needs and desires
of the College and its twinning
partners.
