Sunway College AustMat Awards Night

Sunway College Australian Matriculation
(AustMat) Awards Night was held at Sunway
Lagoon Club on 1 st November. 200 AustMat
students were highly praised by Dr Michael
Partis, Director of Secondary Education
Authority (SEA) of Australia.

Dr Partis complimented the students and
lecturers for continuously maintaining high
academic standards. He also commented that
more than 1,000 Malaysia students have
successfully graduated from the programme at
Sunway College, and now many are attached to Sunway AustMat 's recipients with Dr Michael Partis and Ms N '
renowned universities both in Australia and other bt Yusuf.

students from the May 1996 semester were
the Dean's List (this means they received
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CFGA) of 3
or higher; out of 4 distinctions, on all subjects)

The outstanding first semester students aw
went to Honey Lim, who received a GPAof 3
while taking 17 credit hours of studies,
received the "Thinking Cap" award - a
Professor Howard Dooley presenting a cheque of US$4,000 to Nurita bt
Molid Seth. baseball cap! Four other students also rece^'
GPAs over 3.75 and were awarded fristl
(plastic flying saucers) for their high-fl3|
academic performances!

Transfer Scholarships of US$750 each J
awarded to Nurita bt Mohd Seth, Anthon^
Vui Yin and Situti bt Che Aziz with CG|B
3.88, 3.67 and 3.65 respectively.
